Nutritional Medicine
“You are what you eat. If you don’t know what you eat, do you really know who you are” – Dr Miranda Myles
At Freyja, our focus is on what TO eat, rather than what NOT to eat. We want you to eat in abundance to nourish and flourish. We want to help you use food as your medicine, and make the absolute most out of what you are eating.
We work beyond just simply changing your diet. We want to ensure you are digesting, absorbing, metabolising and excreting your food properly so that you are getting the most out of your diet to help you thrive. The focus then is not only what you are putting in your mouth, but your digestive health, especially your gut microbiome
Our nutritionists take the time to hear you, to see you, to get to know you and work with you to create a perfectly manageable dietary plan that makes sense to you. And one that you are more likely to follow.

How our naturopathy services can help you:
Women’s Health
At Freyja, we are dedicated to supporting women in their quest for physical, hormonal and emotional health. We create a caring and gentle environment that is sensitive and supportive to the needs of women of all ages. We are here to see and support you, where you are at.
With an integrative approach, our team of holistic naturopaths, acupuncturists and nutritionists will combine hormonal & structural support, nutrition & lifestyle advice, food as medicine, movement practice and mindfulness to help you understand your health & hormones.
Trying to Concieve
Acupuncture is recommended to help balance out hormones, regulate ovulation & menstrual cycle, enhance egg quality and uterine lining. Acupuncture is also used to regulate our stress hormones to modulate mood and provide amazing relief and emotional support through what can otherwise be an emotionally challenging (and draining) process.
Acupuncture used during IVF/DEIVF at the time of embryo transfer is associated with increased chances of successful implantation, conception and pregnancy outcomes. As we know, IVF / DEIVF is a very stressful time.
Baby on Board
You have a baby on the way! Congratulations! A new journey is beginning and we’re here to support you. We love helping our beautiful mums-to-be have a healthy pregnancy to welcome their babies earth-side.
We believe the pregnant body is pure magic with its incredible ability to adapt and withstand the needs of a growing baby and mama. We love our role in helping to ensure our pregnant mumas have the most nourishing food and appropriate nutritional support (not too many pills or potions), to experience less pain and more movement. We want our mums to flourish! Our integrative approach to health during pregnancy involves our team of naturopaths, acupuncturists and nutritionists.
Thyroid Health
Naturopathically, we treat thyroid and hormonal conditions through herbal medicine, lifestyle changes, dietary alterations, nutritional medicine and educating and connecting you to your body to know what is happening and when.
Our Naturopaths ensure any hormonal testing is completed thoroughly, to give you the best chance of getting it done right the first time. However, we ask that you please bring with you any recent blood testing, stool and semen analysis so we can see the whole picture.
Men’s Health
Understanding your specific and evolving needs to help you achieve and maintain a healthy body and mind are at the forefront of our approach to men’s health. Stress, poor sleep, fatigue and seemingly unexplained weight gain; commonly are early signs of functional hormonal changes and nutritional deficiencies. We will encourage and support you to address health issues as they arise, to help prevent further symptoms, and enable you to achieve and maintain optimum health.
We want you to enjoy a full and active life, and successfully manage and balance the challenges of your busy work schedule with spending quality time with your friends and family. Perfect the work – life balance.
At the Freyja, our team of Naturopath, Acupuncturists and Nutritionists will provide natural methods to achieve fundamental changes to help men thrive. Effective, science-based approaches are designed to help fight the aging process, address male reproductive health and minimise the risk of chronic illness such as obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Gut Health
Love your guts. This is our jam!
For the gut to be happy, it relies on two things- gut permeability and the microbiome. The microbiome is the constellation of bacteria that live on and in us. Our gut is populated with loads of beneficial bugs that help us poop properly and maintain a strong immune system. Digestion is the core of health, and the microbiome is one of the most important regulators of our overall health. In fact, we are more microbiome than we are human! We each contain 100 trillion microbes (bacterial cells), which is 10 times more than our human cells, and 100 times more than our DNA!
These beneficial bacteria know how to make our genes function properly. If there is an imbalance in bugs, the signals for optimal function fail to work appropriately and a myriad of potential symptoms develop including hormonal, emotional, immune, skin, gut etc symptoms.
Gut permeability relies on the cell junction to be nice and tightly packed together. When there are gaps or holes or the junctions are compromised (Leaky gut), food can leak out of the gut causing inflammation – this is particularly relevant to hayfever, eczema, allergies, autoimmune conditions, constipation, diarrhoea, digestive complaints, period pain, pelvic pain, headaches, thyroid issues, weight problems, sleep problems, exhaustion, fogginess, poor concentration, depression / anxiety / emotional imbalances etc.
