Women’s Health
Naturopathy successfully assists the modern woman through all stages of her hormonal and gynaecological life cycle. From menarche to menopause, puberty to pregnancy and everything in between, the aim of Naturopathy is to bring your body back into (hormonal) balance.
Rather than simply masking the symptoms (cough, splutter, mumble, like the pill), our Naturopaths work to correct the underlying root cause of your specific hormonal or gynaecological imbalance.
The principles of naturopathic medicine are to gently encourage the body’s innate ability to heal itself and facilitate this by supporting detoxification pathways, digestive, nervous and immune health and restoring hormonal balance.
Our Naturopaths will work with you to individualise a treatment plan to match you and your needs. Specific herbs, nutrients, homeopathics & lifestyle recommendations help to regulate your cycle, reduce hormonal symptoms, improve oestrogen & progesterone metabolism, and encourage ovulation to ultimately balance your hormones, for an effortless, painless & regular menstrual cycle.
Our expert Naturopaths have over 30 years combined experience and are incredible educators who will work with you and teach you to better understand your body and hormonal health. We will tailor a treatment plan specifically for you, based on your symptom presentation and where you are at with your hormonal health.
Trying to Conceive
Naturopathic principles are at the core of preconception or prenatal health care. Preconception health care involves striving for optimal health prior to conception attempts to achieve as optimal pregnancy as possible and, in the end, a healthy baby.
Preconception health care has been shown to double IVF success rates. A Naturopath with expertise in this field best delivers preconception health care.
IVF can be a highly stressful time. Our naturopaths are able to provide support for stress management, which enables IVF recipients to cope more effectively with ongoing treatment regimes.
Baby on Board
Child birth naturally depletes our energy, qi or lifeforce which is why rest, nourishing foods and ample sleep is so important in the first 42 days
During the first 40 days following child birth, a baby does not realise it is separate from its mama. It is solely and completely reliant on its mama. This is why it is so essential to support the mama during this time and to ensure complete rest and ample time shared between mum and baby.
We can help support you through:
- Postnatal haemorrhage
- PND and Baby Blues
- Postnatal anxiety symptoms
- Postnatal thyroiditis and hypothyroid
- Post-partum hair loss
- Chronic sleep deprivation
- Nutritional deficiencies in the new mama have been linked with an increased risk of postnatal depression
Thyroid Health
Naturopathically, we treat thyroid and hormonal conditions through herbal medicine, lifestyle changes, dietary alterations, nutritional medicine and educating and connecting you to your body to know what is happening and when.
Our Naturopaths ensure any hormonal testing is completed thoroughly, to give you the best chance of getting it done right the first time. However, we ask that you please bring with you any recent blood testing, stool and semen analysis so we can see the whole picture.
Digestive Health
Love your guts. This is our jam!
For the gut to be happy, it relies on two things- gut permeability and the microbiome. The microbiome is the constellation of bacteria that live on and in us. Our gut is populated with loads of beneficial bugs that help us poop properly and maintain a strong immune system. Digestion is the core of health, and the microbiome is one of the most important regulators of our overall health. In fact, we are more microbiome than we are human! We each contain 100 trillion microbes (bacterial cells), which is 10 times more than our human cells, and 100 times more than our DNA!
These beneficial bacteria know how to make our genes function properly. If there is an imbalance in bugs, the signals for optimal function fail to work appropriately and a myriad of potential symptoms develop including hormonal, emotional, immune, skin, gut etc symptoms.
Gut permeability relies on the cell junction to be nice and tightly packed together. When there are gaps or holes or the junctions are compromised (leaky gut), food can leak out of the gut causing inflammation – this is particularly relevant to hayfever, eczema, allergies, autoimmune conditions, constipation, diarrhoea, digestive complaints, period pain, pelvic pain, headaches, thyroid issues, weight problems, sleep problems, exhaustion, fogginess, poor concentration, depression / anxiety / emotional imbalances etc.
