Freyja –
Our clinic is named after Freyja, the Nordic goddess of femininity and fertility. She represents love, beauty, and strength, and is often associated with intuition, depth, and feminine wisdom. Freyja symbolises a balance between inner and outer qualities — courage, intelligence, and self-knowing — values that continue to inspire our work
The meaning beyond the meaning
From our incredible founder, Dr Miranda:
“When I was 18, I lived in Sweden for 12 months. My Swedish host mother, like my own father, was a GP — but her approach was different. She practised a blend of natural and Western medicine, something we would now describe as integrative care.
She inspired me to pursue a path that reflected both who she was and how she worked. That experience led me to study naturopathy, herbal and nutritional medicine, and homeopathy.
Interestingly, my paternal great-grandfather was also a GP who used homeopathy, and my maternal grandfather applied homeopathic principles in caring for his farm animals. It seems this way of thinking has long been part of my story.”
